I despised domestic violence, but, some women deserved to get spankin once in a while too. Some women can be VILE and sooo Mean and Horrid to their Husbands and or Boyfriends.
The fact of the matter is it happens to women who don't see the early red flags. I'm not without sympathy, I had one bad relationship and he was abusive but I LEARNED from it. But alas we think we can "change a man" don't we ladies? The best early red flag is how he acts around your friends, be very aware of this, if he tries to isolate you from them or has a problem with the "girls nights out" etc. Be aware, pay attention and anything that seems to be not right don't confront, back off early and move on! There are plenty of good men out there that don't control, don't beat, be worthy of one of those men by not being a whiney victim who carries baggage!
I worked in a womens shelter for a number of years & here's something for all women out there. If he calls you and accuses you, if he shows up uninvited to your home or work,if you catch him going through your cell phone or your mail, if you catch him checking your already worn underware, or if he ever says "If I can't have you then no one will... YOU NEED TO GET AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN!! If any of these apply to you and you go to a shelter, PLEASE! Let them know if you are a police officer's wife or girlfriend so you can be relocated immediately. I couldn't tell you how many women, that I know personally, have been killed by men they thought they new :(

when people ask victims of domestic violence why they stay they usually say its bc the abuser holds the purse strings and they dont have the means to leave. that or they say that they are too afraid of leaving.
what's rihanna's excuse? was telling her body guards to keep him away just too much trouble? was the millions in her bank account just not quite enough for her to afford to get away from him. maybe the two of them are the rare exception and beat the sh!t out of each other and like it. its possible that the two of them would STILL be together if the media backlash against her had'nt been so severe when she went back to him.

My dad abused every one of his wives (5) horribly. He put me in the hospital 3 times. Finally, he did what I expected he would do one day, he murdered wife number 5 and then the cowardly bastard went to a motel and shot himself. I told him at 15 when he kicked me out for not letting him beat me, that he would die a lonely old man with no one around. I was right.

It happens every single day, every hour, and perhaps even this minute. All you have to do is use your head and realize when your around people, pissing them off can show thier true colors.
Domestic Violence, can happen to anyone. Including men. You have to decide your worth as a person to be anti-violent, and not allow it in your life. It has nothing to do with the person or prestige, age nor color are factors either.
