SEPTA Strike: What you should know

i dont see anyone fighting for teacher raises but septa can shut down the city and surrounding areafor greed constantly or at will there is other thngs the city should be working on o help its citizens like competing transportation company not just cabs.

This sucks! I don't know why septa always has to let it get to this point. They already know what their employees want and how far they are willing to. They should have made some negotiations a long time a go before it got to this point. Now my husband who is the sole provider for my family has to see if he can find a ride to work or walk 8 miles. If he doesn't then he will lose his job and we won't be able to pay our rent.
As far as the citly allowing competition, it would cause too much trafic. Being as though septa has been allowed to take over the city with their massive amounts of busses, trains and trolley's. It would be very difficult to run another public transportation company and cars still have a place to drive.
I think the city should take over buy septa out and it should be considered a city job. Then employees wouldn't have to worry about benifits. They would get the same kind of benifits as they people who work at city hall.
