250 square feet?????? That is less than a garage in America at 400 square feet. How F- ing generous of the billionare producers to give the family less than a garage. That must make them feel really BIG.
This will probably be the size of their residence in Hell. Let's hope.

this was a disturbing movie. one india should be very ashamed of. very ashamed they permit this poverty in their country. many of the rich in india are apparently evil and selfish. A heathen nation of predators for sure! I hope these boys remember where they came from and maybe do something to help the others. how can these people sleep while their beds are burning so badly?.

Just love how the media is in love with trying to make the American public accept the middle eastern people as being our allies. The libs. never cease to amaze me.

These people make millions off this movie and all they can give this poor kid is a 250 sq ft apartment? In India that probably costs about $200. How generous! Now what to do with the other $300 million they've made?

I agree with happyhound. Danny must not have wanted anyone to be too envious of the young costar. But in Mumbai 250 sq ft is a palace. I hope Boyle is at least paying for the education as well.

I like how they razed their home and then, sometime later, built them this replacement hovel - but they've yet to give this magnaminous gift to the other child star. And don't forget he's required to complete his "edumacation" and when he's 18 he'll get to "keep" his little cell palace!!
Oh, what a wonderfull deal!! No doubt these good samaritans sleep the sleep of the blessed at night, not.

Thank you president Obama, your stimulas money has finally reached it's destination. unfortunatly after your cronies stuck their hands in the cookie jar all that was left was enough for this lousy 250 sqft apartment

I'll never spend a dime to see another d*thead flick as long as I live. I wonder how much money that movie made from the time it was released until the time that poor little kid stepped into his luxurious new spread. Outrageous.

Actually, 250 square feet is 100 sq ft less than the cabin on the cruise ship we'll be on next week. I think these Hollywood types should be able to do better than that!

I just cannot understand how this boy is one of the stars of an oscar winning film and only gets a 250 sq. ft. apartment. So I guess this means he didnt get paid anything for playing a great role in this movie that made producers and investors millions of dollars!! This is not right and needs to be made more public so everyone knows this and boycotts their future films.

A movie that nets the over 300 million and this is what the producers do for the children there? I surely will never watch anything by them again. It's even hard to believe how tortuous it must have been for these children to go from shanties to Hollywood with all the luxuries and then be taken back into those shanties. Trust fund? That's just a sick slick way of jerking them around even more! They need the money OWED to them NOW, not when (and if) they live to be 18 or whateve

Boyle, you should be totally embarrassed you worse that a slimy crook. Those child actors that earned you 300 million dollars deserve so much more than a room no bigger than your walk in closet for the family. Do you think as you select your ties, suit and shoes from a room bigger than 250 Square feet that you could feel the least bit guilty. Jackass!

Lets see, Pitt gets $20 million a picture and part of the profits.

Figures this movie was distributed in the US Jan 2009 by Fox grossed over $400 million by February and the kids still live in the slums even after the movie won 8 Academy Awards!

That is how some get so filthy rich, while some who really "made" the film get exploited and still live in the slums!.

A trust was set up for the children (like to know how much) that they receive at 18. In India if you live in the slums you may never make 18!

Now they have a garage sized apartment (that must have cost a lot in India) thanks to the generosity of the millionaire producers who have waited a year to do anything about these kids situation.

Shame on Fox, shame on those who would exploit children. Oh, you can still buy it on Blue Ray for $24.95 a pop. Of course the kids get nothing!

Disgusting, how the Hollywood millionaire think they are treating fairly the co-stars of this move. The movie would have been nowhere without these talented kids! WHERE is their humanity? Where is there justice?
Down the tubes with most of this country - the government and the very rich, I guess....
These kids are being put in a "closet" with their parents! Disgusting.
