What a mess. Myanmar is a vassal to the Chinese Emperors, just as North Korea is. Really what these amount to is Mongolian Khanates, if you read your Chinese/Mongolian history. That's why China seems to claim the entire world for its own. The Mongolian Khans established Beijing as their capital and it has been the capital of China ever since! Read about Genghis Khan and his grandson, Kublai in the 12th and 13th centuries.
