Afghan gov't says UN representative out of line (AP)

AP - Pushing back against international criticism, Afghanistan's Foreign Ministry said Saturday that the top U.N. official in the country overstepped his authority by giving instructions on how to rid the government of corruption and warlords. » Full Story on Yahoo! News

And the occupation help's where? I don't think trying to militarily control a land area bigger then Texas is a smart move.

Maybe Afghanistan should start auctioning their land off to Nicolas Cage....http://dedlines.com

...assurances of reform had to be backed up with action. "The proof is not going to be in words. It's going to be in deeds," Obama said.
"Impressive" coming from Obama. Karzei is nothing but another dictator being supported by US Taxpayers' money & troops lives.
He's got the three P's: Position, Power and Poppy & will not let go.
The UN Official called a "spade a spade" who hasn't taken action to reform their corrupt government for YEARS. Bring our troops home, then bomb their poppy Fields with Paraquat... something we SHOULD have done years ago. What are you waiting for Obama?

Since the Afghan government dislikes the advice given and wants to throw their independence, bring our troops home and let them deal with their issues alone. No additional US troop blood should be spilled for people who refuse to handle their business at home. We should be focusing on taking care of our troops and mending our broken fences in the US.

The truth hurts. Another pompous "official" who wouldn't be there if it wasn't for the people he says "have no right" to be making comments.

Well, well, well. Somebody finally has the balls to tell the UN where to go. There has to be a deserted island someplace to relocate these clowns to.

KARZAI tells the truth, for a change, when he responds to requests that corruption in Afghanistan be addressed immediately.....".that would be beyond the international norm."..........hahahahaha
Truth certainly reverberates from the strangest of places. Not only was Karzai part of Bush's Carlyisle Industries, he speaks like a double agent for the CIA. YOU TELL'EM KARZAI!!!!! If our government weren't so full of your kind of people you'd probably be out of a job.

Well, you know, someone has to tell those backward Islamic jerks how to straighten out their country. If they don't like it , everyone should go home. If they allow terrorists to flourish there, turn the place into a glass floored, glowing parking lot. You either get down and dirty with these Islami terrorists or they will kill us over and over. Start cleaning up our own backyard of these r**h*** Islamic jerks. DEATH TO ISLAM.

The Afgan government should remember it only exist because of the protection and money it recieves from the UN. If they don't like the advice maybe we should take the protection and money away. After all Bin Laden isn't even in Afganistan any more.

Obama and the UN should address the corruption in their own adminstrations before pointing their fingers at others.

Perfect example of the Afghan Government. They accept no blame, blame others for their failures, and have the balls to say that the United Nations Mentor and Advisor on Afghan Government Affiars for Corruption over stepped his bounds. Get all the troops out, and bomb this hell hole.

We call this corruption, to them it's a way of life, from the very bottom to the very top, a warlord or tribal leader there has power of life and death, the Afghan government and military is just an additional burden.
Imagine the U.S. winning and achieving democracy there, wouldn't it be great they'd be our equals with democratically elected officials lining up their pockets with tax payer's money.
The only problem is, if the Taliban win they'll have the atom jackpot of Pakistan. Also there are too many things we don't know and won't know for another 30 to 50 years, a little like with Viet-Nam.

Not only the UN but the rest of world leaders emphasizing on the same problem! So, the only party that out of line is the current administration of Afghanistan. That said... no government ever can get rid of such problem of corruption. Look at past history... e.g. the Marcos of Phillipines, the Diem of South Vietnam, the Shah of Iran, etc. And even nowadays in developed countries such as Japan, China, France, Germany, Italy... and even the U.S... corruption free is only a dream!

Afghanistan needs to get on with a government where it can be governed effectively... with or without corruption charges by the rest of the world.

The USA, had the biggest (formerly) bags of money going to that country has RUN OUT! Afganistan will continue to operate as they are for the next decade or two or three...we simply don't have the resources to give. No more blood, no more money, no more patience.....Please, let's go home and leave them to their own, created by them, fate.. They hate us and that will never change....never...

Enough is enough. Lets get it on. Coward Obama needs to step up NOW. START BOMBING WAZIRISTAN!START BOMBING SOUTH AFGHANISTAN,Kendahar province and Helmend province and BOMB ALL KNOWN IRANIAN NUCLEAR SITES TONIGHT. PULL ALL TROOPS OUT OF ALL THESE COUNTRIES AND START BOMBING FROM 30,000 FEET. We tried diplomacy, now let them know we can and will kill them. Enough is enough. Islam is the problem. While we bomb, tell those that have it that we will also be taking their oil when we are done bombing. WAR IS HELL BUT IT'S ALSO PROFITABLE AND CAN HELP OUR ECONOMY.
