it amazes me. have an aunt thats 5 foot nothing and out weighs me. she just turned 60 and has VERY bad knees. she wont cut back on her eating and doesnt get that if shes not burning the calories she doesnt need to put the calories in.
99% of people's health probs could be solved by eating right and getting off their a$$es and moving more.

Jeez, can you imagine reading the news one day and recognizing your fat arse in the photo? I always wondered about that when I see these reports.

I am not a skinny minny, I love to cook I love to eat but I love to sweat I LOVE how it feels to get a good cardio and that release of stress. Balance people balance, why is it so fricken hard to grasp?

Just think, welfare may be funding much of their food so that our tax dollars can fund their health care.

And according to the government: so do cigarettes, radon, chemicals, blah, blah, blah. The people aren't the problem...the government is the problem - it's sick and needs to be fixed!
Everyone in DC needs to see a proctologist immediately!

Joke and mock but which of us has the promise of being alive tomorrow? There are a lot of causes of cancer and having a brother that died of it, I learned a lot about the disease. If you would talk to the cancer specialist you would find out just the fact of living causes cancer.Very had a bad bruise, broken bones, and are you still breathing the polluted air, get my point yet? It is easy to pick a couple of causes and go after them but you need to look at the whole picture before you belittle any group.
I worked in abestos for years in constrution before they came out against asbestos, they went to fiber glass and guess what it causes cancer too. You just don't know until you're told then it's to late.

http://seer.cancer.gov/statfacts/html/all.html says there will be 1,479,350 people diagnosed with cancer in 2009. 100,000 is little less than 7% of all people diagnosed with cancer. Whoever is the source of this article has an agenda which takes away from the seriousness of the more important causes of cancer. Lung cancer is still the highest with 219,440 expected in 2009 with breast and prostate cancer virtually tied in second place with over 190,000 each.

I have a very simple method of keeping my waistline in check. I don't eat unless I am hungry and stop when I START to feel full. Swimming and cardio also help. Weight control has more to do with self control than glands. I'm 62 now and it doesn't get easier with age. It gets harder. Am I bragging? You bet I am. A message to all you who can't see your toes when you look down. Take some responsibility for your life before your fat stops your heart. If you can't watch your weight for yourself do it for someone who loves you.

If they knew what causes cancer there would be a cure. Nobody can pin cancer to a cause. Its like coming out and saying women with large breasts get cancer more than women with small breasts.

Alot of overweight people use food as a crutch to hide their depression. And some have health problems. BUT there are some out there that don't eat big and still are big. I am big, but I don't eat out. In fact I eat one meal a day and the plate isn't heaping. I have been big all my life and eat light. Some people are geneitcally big. It darn sure don't cause cancer. Those studies are just a bunch of bs and I damn sure don't believe them.

Obesity also causes poor circulation thus causing less oxygen to get to the brain, once weight is lost people register as republicans.

Obesity causes a workload on the whole body that is devestating. Think of a truck built to carry a weight load trying to carry 3 - 4 times as much more. The strain and stress would blow all major systems. The over-replication of healthy blood cells and elimination of dead blood cells in obese person is a major burden, leaving room for genetic error. That's my pedestrian take on it.

We all know the answer to this cancer problem: TAXES, of course. Just like cigarettes, the government now has a justification for taxing the hell out of sugar, fatty foods and fast foods; all for our own good, of course. They can put some more manufacturers and retailers out of business and restrict the consumers rights. Then they can generate some studies on how alcohol causes cancer and tax the hell out of that product. This is all okay because it lowers health costs in this country. What a farce. If I want to eat, smoke and drink and only live 29 or 39 or 49 years, what the hell business is it of the government, or anyone else, for that matter. Land of the Free? Ha! You must mean fat-free, smoke-free, drink-free and thought-free.
