Mmmm....ketchup and rice. That's almost as good as peanut butter and ramen.

Good for you Pat! You earned it with honor!
I hope they appologized for making him wait an hour to get his check deposited,.....kind of seems like they were jerks to him, but he handled it with grace and humility, hope he stays that way.

Great story and I wish the best for him. I work with the homeless and most stories don't end up this well, but every once in a while....

Great Attitude and that can do spirit that built this country!

Sounds like the movie "Cinderella Man" a true story about a pro fighter down on his luck during the Great Depression. Sounds way to much like that situation.

I am glad he got his pay day and it would have been helpful if they would have named the bank that treated him like scum. What they don't take big checks from scary looking people? the criminals that are ripping people off and cheating the banking system are the scum bags that work and run the banks.

I am happy that a person like him gets the money. Lesnar bitched about getting "only $6 million". This guys was a WEEK FROM HOMELESS!!!! He got $120,000 and is the most deserving of it out of anyone in UFC. How about the morals of this guy? He got himself into the mess and he told himself it was his job to get out of it. WHENEVER THIS GUY FIGHTS I WILL ACTUALLY BUY THE FIGHT ON PPV JUST FOR HIM.

good for him
nice to see someone win for a change
not win in a fight, but a win as in earned his $ fair and square
took a beating for it, but earned it nonetheless

Dear Pat I read your story and thought it was great, not that you had problems but that with some determination you over came. Truly inspiring.

He is a winner in more ways than one. He sucked up his problems and solved them by true grit. The Duke would be proud of you.
